WILL MORTGAGE RATES GO DOWN EVEN FURTHER?

Off the back of the victory by the Conservatives at the polls there is a possibility that mortgage rates could be set to dip even further.

Although at record low levels the austere fiscal policy planned by the new Government could see rates dip even further

If this policy is put firmly into place then interest rates are likely to remain lower for longer and therefore nudge the mortgage lenders in competition to vie for business with lower mortgage rates.

We will have to see what effect the removal of the prospect of a Labour mansion tax has on properties valued at over £2m in boosting sales which have seem a slump recently, but this may be tempered by the fact that stamp duty on this value of property has gone up.
